Artist Vera Mangold
Vera Mangold was born in 1945 in a small farming/oil and gas field community in South Texas. She was good at drawing and painting from childhood, so after retiring from banking and credit management she took up art with a natural interest. Books to study, a couple of workshops and lots of practice gave her the foundation she needed become an enthusiastic watercolorist and recently, an acrylic artist. She has always loved the outdoors—she and her husband Gene lived aboard their 41’ sailboat for 13 years, partly while they were working professionals and also including a 2-year sabbatical cruise down island to Venezuela—so plein air artwork is a great blessing to her. She and her husband now live in Stuart, FL. Vera is a member of Art Associates of Martin County, Hobe Sound Fine Arts League and Cloudcroft Art Society in Cloudcroft, New Mexico.
